The change of the water level of the steam drum is not caused by the destruction of the material balance relationship between the water supply and the evaporation, but is caused by the sudden change of the working fluid pressure or the sudden change of the combustion conditions, which increases or decreases the bubble content in the water volume, causing The phenomenon that the volume of the working medium expands or contracts, causing the water level of the drum to rise or fall, is called false water level.

1-When the load changes suddenly, the faster the load changes, the more obvious the false water level;

2-In case of load shedding of the steam turbine;

3-The combustion suddenly increases or decreases during operation, causing a sudden increase or decrease in the production of bubbles and an instantaneous increase or decrease in the water level

4-When the safety valve is seated, the water level rises significantly due to a sudden drop in pressure;

5-When the boiler is extinguished, due to the sudden stop of combustion, the production of bubbles in the boiler water will decrease rapidly, and the water level will also drop instantaneously. When there is a significant change in the water level during operation, the reason and trend of the change should be analyzed to determine whether it is a false water level or a real change in the water level of the steam drum, and adjust it in a timely and appropriate manner.
