What are the ways to reduce boiler steam loss?

The steam loss of the boiler, in addition to the loss caused by the poor maintenance quality, is mainly caused by the sewage and drainage during the operation of the boiler. Reducing the heat loss of sewage can be considered from the following aspects:

1-Ensure the quality of the boiler feed water. The boiler feed water quality is high, and the blow-down rate will be reduced under the boiler water concentration ratio designed for the boiler.

2-Improve the installation and maintenance quality of the steam-water separation device, improve the steam-water separation effect, and obtain better steam quality at a higher boiler water concentration, thereby reducing the blow-down rate.

3- During operation, parameters such as boiler load, water level, and steam pressure are kept stable, so that the boiler steam-water separation device can operate under normal conditions.

Boiler drainage is generally carried out in the case of boiler startup and shutdown and abnormal conditions. Timely and reasonable opening and closing of drainage can reduce heat loss. There may be leakage from the drain door and the blow-down door. During the operation of the boiler, the leakage should be carefully checked and dealt with in time to avoid unnecessary heat loss.
